Oman is a perfect destination for incentive travel. The Sultanate will appeal to adventurers and those who love thrills and new experiences. Beautiful nature and wide-open spaces will be the setting for authentic events. The country is also working on sustainable tourism in order to preserve its heritage and precious wildlife. In this approach, many associations are present in the Sultanate, in particular to protect sea turtles, which come to lay their eggs every year on the beach.
Muscat, Oman’s port capital, sits on the Gulf of Oman surrounded by mountains and desert. With history dating back to antiquity, it mixes high-rises and upscale shopping malls with clifftop landmarks such as the 16th-century Portuguese forts, Al Jalali and Mirani, looming over Muscat Harbour. Its modern, marble-clad Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, with 50m dome and prodigious Persian carpet, can accommodate 20,000 people
Nestled 2,000 metres above sea level, Jebel Akhdar is a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by breath taking views of the surrounding Al Hajar Mountains and incredible history and culture of Oman. This region, a two-hour drive from Oman’s capital of Muscat, is often overlooked thanks to its remote location and rugged terrain. However, for those who make the trek there can glimpse of authentic Omani villages alongside sweeping mountain views. See both the villages and the hidden gardens and orchards that gives the region its name. See these far-flung villages on a tour with a driver to navigate the mountain roads and then descending to the wadi's where you can see walnuts and pomegranate trees plantations.
Salalah is the capital city of southern Oman's Dhofar province. It's known for its banana plantations, Arabian Sea beaches and waters teeming with sea life. The Khareef, an annual monsoon, transforms the desert terrain into a lush, green landscape and creates seasonal waterfalls.
